Hi All,

I have just come out of a Woolworths Hygiene & PPC audit, and a non - conformance was raised over the weight & count management procedure:

the clause states: "are documented systems in place to ensure weight, volume and counts managed in line with WW requirements, WW product specifications & legal requirements?"

I am not sure what is required in this procedure as each packing sheet states that the product is to be checked weighed every 15 minutes in a production run and that non- conforming packs are to be sent back to the packing station for corrective action.

Your assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Kind Regards,

Ashnee

Hard to tell without seeing the procedure.  Did the auditor mention anything specific?  Sometimes they will clarify what the deficiency is.

Off the top of my head:
Do you record the checks?  Is there a weight range?  Does QA review the checks before shipment and trend the checks at some frequency?  Does the range match product spec sheets?  Are spec sheets available to othe floor? Are directions for what to do with a  for non conformance on the checklist? Are non conformances recorded and followed up with corrective actions?  Are staff trained?

Each unit that leaves the plant a weight must be documented to ensure that you are giving the consumer let product than state. That what my teacher told me.
