Hi!
I work in a dry environment, and our floor is concrete. We are switching to steel toed boots, which many employes dislike (but I LOVE !). I'd like to make the employees more comfortable at their work stations and put out anti-fatigue mats. I'm concerned about their cleaning and also the trip hazard aspect this introduces.
We don't have a lot of dust and I believe employees would move them daily to clean the floor. Our product has a very low moisture content and therefore a low risk for salonmella and listeria, plus the dry environment. I'm just hesitant because ...stuff... gets under there. And it's stuff from employee shoes. And we don't have a captive footwear program. Mats always end up kind of gross.
Do any of you use anti-fatigue mats? Do you control them (either documentation or 3rd party cleaners)? Maybe casual environmental testing? Would a floor cleaning SOP that includes removing the mats before sweeping cover GFSI auditing requirements, or would I need more?
