Hi All,

 

Although I put cigarette butt, which I found in some Chinese black beans that arrived at our factory. Actually there were loads of them in sealed 5kg bags of black beans. One of the best foreign body finds my friend had was an 18 carrot gold chain in a 60cm baguette. It was practically the entire length of the baguette buried right in the centre. I guess the metal detector was having an off day.

you might usefully consider re-arranging the list into what are (typically) regarded as safety/non-safety items.

 

May surprise a few people. Disgusting is not necessarily a hazard, albeit a business opportunity.

PS - As a possibly less pukey corollary thread to this one, how about another on "Most Unexpected Items found in the Processing Line ? I can suggest (1) a Monitor Lizard, (2) an Escort Service.

Well, this dosen't sound to good, any of those things in food would be bad. However, in my opiion having a part of a rodent or an insect in the food can be worst.

We once found an I Phone in a frozen 5kg bag of corned beef.

 

The corned beef had been frozen for about 6 months, and we had defrosted when we found the phone in the bag. I turned it on, and it worked! Good advert for Apple! Crap advert for the metal detector!

I was having trouble thinking of gross things to list (ingredient from a prevu\ious run? pssssh) Maybe : Worst contamination for an auditor to find during inspection and have real stuff like flaking paint, fraying conveyor, Salmonella, dirty air guns, bait trap...?

 

Dude, I forgot flaking paint!  Is there a thread with how to edit polls FAQ?

The mice or a body part are icky especially in a final product, .....but at least understandable.....a couple of the items are beyond gross.  The used sanitary napkin is where a puking emoticon is really necessary.

Our Sister company had a dental crown from a tooth returned to them, they checked all employees mouths without finding any missing crowns and still don't know the origin (this was 8 years ago and product was not metal detected at the time)

Unfortunately, most employees are by no means idiots, especially if in pain. Under "emergency" conditions, new crown = < 1week, sometimes << 1week.

Could also have been a souvenir. Winning boxing match ?

 

Nonetheless, if genuine and, say, only 5 employees, the scope should narrow somewhat. Perusal of recent history perhaps.
