My supervisor wants to include regulatory references on policy and procedure. Thing is, I have a lot of trouble finding information that pertains to the certain topic I'm writing documentation for.

My supervisor knows how to ferret stuff out pretty well, but I can't seem to get the hang of it and I don't want to be a more self-sufficient and effective at this task. Anyone have any tips and tricks on navigating and finding information on the FDA/USDA websites?

At the time, I was working on a recall program. But, I'm mostly looking for general advice on navigating FDA/USDA websites. Maybe it's one of those things I need to learn.

I presume you are already aware that Google offers the ability to search a specific website based on a simple "command" type query  format. (something like objective, colon, website).  Assuming that website is non-blocking presumably. IMEX information retrieval is complicated by the frequent internal "improvements" implemented by some sites.

Dear Hankesg -

It has been a while since I did FDA work, but with USDA, sometimes you just have to do a seaarch and then dig a little. My best advice - follow search threads and read, read, read. AS Charles.C mentioned, the US regulatory sites are not the most friendly...
