Hello world,

I started working in manufacturing about a year ago when I needed a new adventure. I was hired to prepare audit paperwork, do accounting, some warehouse & truck loading, work the line, walk the dog, feed the VP and everything else those of us working in small companies do to get our feet in the door! About 6 months into my new job I was introduced to the "no big deal" world of SQF. Along with some amazing colleagues and this forum I am 2 months away from our first SQF Certification! I feel a need to thank everyone who posts on the forum, all the shared links to interesting, related articles and people who share their version of different documentations.

Without all of you I would have been involuntarily looking for another new "adventure".

So again, thank you.

Hello mduane! I recently graduated and got the job of SQF Practictioner. I was able to attend our surveillance audit and "shadow" the person I was replacing, but I still have a lot to learn! Our audit is also coming up in about two months. I hope I can learn a lot too  :spoton:

Setanta- Thank you for having me

Chefvi13- welcome as well, I have found that reading is the best method to understanding in all walks of life. This especially applies to food safety.

Snookie- Thank you very much !  :ejut:

Mr. Incognito- you are correct I was very much lied to when I was told going from a GMP Audit to SQF should only take a few minor modifications... But alas I am happy to be employed and a part of the Food Safety/SQF/IFSQN world.

As rough as being in food safety / quality can be it is a pretty fulfilling job knowing that you help to make the food that millions of people eat safer (ok well millions for me maybe not for everyone).  Even people who make food contact packaging are extremely important because depending on what may be on the packaging perfectly safe food could become at risk.
