Can anyone please share an example of process flow diagram showing the transfer points in high care facilities as per WQA v8.

Hi Archana,

 

Since you haven't had any replies I suggest that you post your flow diagram and we can assist you.

 

Transfer points are where materials (packaging, ingredients etc.) enter and leave (products, waste etc.) the high care area so something like this with the transfer points with red arrows, you could also add a bit more info on the control at transfer:

Please find attached our process flow diagram. Can you please let me know if mine addresses the high risk area and transfer points.

Hi Archana,

 

That is sort of the idea, there are things there that seem to appear from nowhere and aren't marked as transferring in?

Ingredients
Brine
Canola Oil

You also have 'External products' which doesn't mean anything to me.

 

It will be worthwhile getting a factory plan and identifying the high care area and transfer points which you than then reference/number on this flow diagram and also document the controls at these referenced transfer points.

Canola Oil and brine are inbuilt lines in the factory. We also buy external products and do our labels and then sell them out. I wasn't sure how to put this into the flow diagram.

 

I will follow your suggestion and see how I go in putting this together. It is very confusing for me and I hardly get how to do this flow diagram.

Thks for posting yr flowchart.

 

I don't 't know how WQA defines high care transfer points but yr current haccp layout already seems a bit messy to my eyes.

 

You appear to have 7 CCPs, 11QCPs and a few QP/CPs thrown in.

 

I have never done a WQA audit or recently studied their notorious standard but if the haccp part vaguely conforms to a conventional modern style i would suggest yr plan is an example of overkill similar to that in ye olden days.

 

IMO the majority of yr CCPs can be PRPs >> 75% (haccp) work reduction at the cost of a "pencil"  and more time to ponder over HCTPs.

 

i also appreciate that WQA demands irrelevancies like QCP but  I'm rather amazed that yr RA can generate 11 of them ?

 

I apologize in advance if all yr CCPs are in fact pre-ordained by WQA and will pass the criticism over to them.
