I did the comments that Dood referenced above. And yes, it was based upon the draft version.

Some numbering and language have indeed changed from the draft to the final issue.

In November, SGS had a webinar on the changes in v7.  I watched it, and it was informative, though I was not familiar with V6 at the time.  Here is a link to a listing where you can access the playback.  You will need to put in your name and other information, but I don't know if you can access it if you did not register for it (it was free) originally.  It's worth a try.

No need to, someone did it already. can remember who though (but thank you!!)

I think this Gap analysis was based on the draft changes released early last year, going through it now and the final released version, a considerable amount has changed include, including section number. Currently working through a gap analysis, will upload shortly.

This was probably for V6, which is why it no longer appears on their site.  It has some good advice, but may not be current.

There have been many posts on this forum about both those topics, I suggest that you search for them.  I remember many documents being uploaded by users to help people.

The search engine on this forum works well, so it's always useful to search.

Hi Martha,

I liked the Traceability attachment except for one element which seemed to be striving to uphold  the “Fundamental (3.9)” / Glossary definitions of Traceability as per Standards 6/7  which imply traceability all the way to the consumer. This contrasts with the less demanding  expectations as presented in other parts of the Standard, eg (3.9.2).

Notably, as I read it, this paragraph (and the Glossary) are defective in scope (The "Fundamental" is perhaps designating  the ultimate in perfection, )   –

To carry out a traceability check, you should select a specific batch of product. For example, select a product from a customer’s store by choosing a product with a provenance claim from the warehouse or from historical production records. Company records should then be used to follow the specific batch of product backwards starting with dispatch to customers, through each step of production to receipt of raw materials.

Kind Regards,

Charles.C

Since I got it directly from BRC, I guess you need to talk to them about it.  I did not write it, I only downloaded it and shared it.

No.

This is how BRC compensate for giving a free copy of the standard.
