This may be a dumb question but what is the difference in these 2 pdf files from BRC?  Does the free pdf count as a "copy" of the manual during an audit?  I would think the would want you to spend money

Thanks

G

Good question.

Yes the 'free copy' does, the benefit of an unlocked version enables you to copy and paste......

BRC Food Guidance
1.1.7 The site shall have a genuine, original hard copy or electronic version of the current Standard available and be aware of any changes to the Standard or protocol that are published on the BRC website.

Interpretation Availability of a copy of the Standard
The aim of this requirement is to ensure the site has easy access to all the relevant requirements needed for compliance and certification to the BRC Standard. The site is therefore required to have an official copy of the Standard available in either paper or electronic form. An up-to-date subscription to BRC Participate provides an online version of the Standard and therefore also meets this requirement.

Tony

Just print the free pdf version, from which you can not copy, to a new pdf document (you can do on most work pc's) and then you will find out that you can copy and paste.  (if that fails go here: http://www.pdfunlock.com/)

http://www.brcbooksh...e-7-uk-free-pdf

http://www.brcbooksh...e-7-us-free-pdf

(does anybody know the difference between these UK/US standards, is it just the text in the booklet that is not in the standard?)

(or find your own language)

Hi Aegean,

Based on post 3, 1.1.7,  the answer is presumably Yes.

Kind Regards,
