Hi pcotter,

I'm not a SQF user but I know the answer to air quality queries may be simple or non-simple perhaps depending on yr process. The following may be overkill for your situation but just to start the ball rolling.

Any choice of filter logically relates to the expected air quality.

From memory, a recent thread indicated that SQF were only interested in air quality if related to delivery of compressed air.

However i seem to recall some previous SQF threads where data on environmental air quality was requested although, from memory, not specifically due to AC's presence.

Is AC specifically mentioned in SQF standard ?. Para ?

Again from memory, for environmental air,  the only audit request was regarding to see some ("acceptable") plate count results from settle plates. The possible meaning of acceptable is discussed in  at least one of first 2  links below and also elsewhere, eg in the 3rd thread linked below (+ further in middle link of post 4 in 3rd thread)   -

http://www.ifsqn.com...air-filtration/

http://www.ifsqn.com...ent/#entry81054

http://www.ifsqn.com...int-of-contact/

(within the onward middle link from post 4, see post 18 and its sub-link )

Maybe you knew most of the above already ?

I daresay other SQF users will be able to more precisely confirm the SQF air / filter expectations, if any, for (i presume) an RTE product environment with AC.

Kind Regards,

Hepa.

AFAI can see, there is zero mention of air-conditioning units in SQF Code?.

We welcome questions of course, but please try to coordinate so that you do not ask the same question.  It wastes the time of the people who provide answers, I'm sure you understand.  Thanks for your cooperation.

To qualify my response. Most of what we see is hepa filters, however there is no set type for SQF - just that systems can be become a cause of contamination in general.

Thus, one could use any type of filters, what an Auditor will normally be checking for is the PM program for cleaning/change outs etc.
