Hi Christina, to be honest I've never heard of 'World Quality Month'. In the UK we have 'Movember' where men [who can] grow moustaches during the month of November to raise awareness of various cancer. How about asking employees to submit ideas for quality improvement and have awards and small prizes, maybe a free lunch for all employees. Pink hairnets.

I've at least heard of Movember. I think World Quality Month comes from a source outside of the food industry, but maybe it will catch on.
Personally I would love pink hairnets, because pink is the best color!
I came up with a few posters that had multiple quality-based trivia on them, mentioning larger facts (like who the "father" of quality is, all the quality systems that came from Japan, etc.), SQF-based facts, and company-specific facts about quality procedures and printed them out to hang up around the plant. We'll have a trivia contest and see who can remember the most pieces of trivia to win a small prize.
We have 4 shifts, and our Quality Dept. came up with the idea of rewarding the shift that has the best quality for the month with a luncheon with Management. In our case specifically it would be whose shift finished all rework, had the least amount of product on hold, least amount sent back to regrind, etc. I have no idea how that will work out logistically, but the Operations Manager is in charge of that (so therefore it's not my problem, mwahaha).
And we're also beefing up staff with a bunch of quality training. This makes me really happy, since I made a manual 6 months ago that is full of basic information I felt every employee should know about our process, how to identify defects, fill out documentation, etc. So it's finally, finally being used. I could dance, because I spent weeks working on creating it after noticing the inconsistent knowledge of new employees and temps, and now it will actually see the light of day.
