Hi,

Our auditing body has said that V8 is now being worked on with a release date of June/July 18. Is anyone aware of what the changes may be or when we can expect the comparision between V7 & V8?

Thanks

For the BRC Global Standard v8 position currently, it would probably be best defined as "started talking about starting to work on it". Blue sky ideas this summer, actual details worked via the technical working groups summer / fall.

The Standard itself won't really be set in any form until late this year or early 2018 - that is the earliest something public would be seen - when public comment is requested.

The all elusive comparison won't come out until the final version is written.... something for next year.

I just had an audit and the auditor also mentioned BRC V8 coming soon, though probably on either 2018 or 2019. It's currently under revision.

One of the changes he mentioned that left me a bit worried is that unnanounced audits will not be optional. Not sure how the system will work but they will probably add a clause for it.

BRC have advertised invitation only events in London & Manchester for March 2018 titled 'Food Safety Issue 8 exclusive previews'. ( see https://www.brcgloba...rds.com/events/ ) Information I've heard give a publishing date of July / August 2018 and the standard used for all audits from Jan / Feb 2019 .

The above link is only to a draft of version 8.

BRC now request stakeholders to go through and send in comments, deadline 31 December 2017.

I believe it's being released in the summer of 2018, and has to be used for audits from January 2019. But I could be wrong.

That's been the usual timeline.

Is anyone else experiencing difficulty in downloading the new material?

I've e-mailed BRC as well but nothing seems to happen.

I did have some issues initially - kept grumbling about not having the relevant permissions, but thought it was probably just teething problems with the relatively new subscription system that replaced the membership fee. Logged out and logged back in a few hours later and seemed to work fine.

Who did you email? support (at) brcparticipate dot com got back to me very quickly when we had issues with the subscription registration not working.

I've logged in and out several times, several days and in different web-applications, without luck.

First the support at BRC tried to figure out if I really was logged in (of course I was). I also tried to get a new password for the old bookshop login I have (can't remember the password), but the reset-mail never arrived. Then they really didn't know what to do, so in the end they just sent me the pdf files by mail instead.
