If citric acid is added to a product in minuscule amounts is it necessary to declare in the ingredient listing?

Well...let me ask you this.  Why are you adding citric acid?  What is the function of it in the product?  Is it..

  1. Reduced pH?
  2. Impart flavor?
  3. Other?

Reducing pH could be construed as a processing aid.  Imparting flavor would be an ingredient.

  1.

Hello,

When the citric acid has a function in the final product, it has to be declared.

  • Preservation is also a function

Kind regards,
