Hi

Maybe I misread, but it seems that there is no window for unannounced surveillance audits? Does this mean that they can come anytime all year? How are we supposed to plan around that? Can we give black out windows for when we cant be audited? I thought it would be a 60 day window like I had seen for SQF? I am OK with the 1/3 years, but this window not being restricted seems ridiculous

Did anyone else see this or am I incorrect on my interpretation?

Hi Qualityfishgirl11

the normal practice it the you accept that the unannounced audit will be 60 days either side of your last audit date. To keep you certification the certification obviously need to conduct the audit prior to the expiry date of the current certificate so it means that the unannounced audit must happen in the window of 60 days prior to  your certification.

You can narrow it down further by blacking out days in the 60 days window though absence of Quality Manager is not a valid reason to black out any day.

In short you expect the unannounced audit to take place at least 10 months after your last audit and prior to your certificate renewal date.

Kind regards
