Have you included the right to search in employees contract of employment?

If an employer wants to exercise a right to carry out any search, the best method of doing this is to make it a condition of an employee's contract of employment, or as a company policy. If an employee consents to such a condition of employment, then such action may be appropriate.

Searches are usually carried out if theft is suspected

I heard one story of a locker search on a no nut site because an auditor found an empty sweet wrapper which contained nuts on the label then the offender ended up getting fired
