Hi!
Can anyone tell me if the new version of the standard,requires the performance appraisal of the personnel?
Thank you in advance.

Does not mention performance appraisals but does talk about evaluating the performance of the system;

this means assessing the current methods of evaluation that are set up

this means observing how your current methods of evaluation are working

This mainly applies to monitoring and measuring procedures but it can also apply to the quality system as a whole.

Performance evaluation of employees can be seen as part of the 7.2 requirement which is competence.

You must show that person(s) are competent and trained on their duties

Thank you very much for your reply. That was what I have been thinking my self (about 7.2 I mean). But is that a non conformity for a certification body, from you point of view?

I am new to the ISO standard Hombis, but I would conclude that if the auditor found a lapse in 7.2 Competence such as a lack of training of one individual then it would probably be written as a Minor NC.

Yes it is a non conformance not being able to document and show training of employees.

Dear Hombis,

Just to confirm and to underline what's been said above. Training of employees is a basic topic in all audits, where it is a requirement. It is better to have a fully implemented training program (which is already good for your company), otherwise you will find yourself with non-conformities.

Kind regards,

Thank you for your response Gerard,

My actual question was whether personnel's performance appraisal  is compulsory, not training.

The ISO 9001:2015 standard mentions the word 'performance' 24 times and in no instance is it coupled with 'appraisal'
