ah, got it

So generally speaking, if all parties from manufacturer to final destination play a role in maintaining wholesome food

Clearly manufacturers need a pest control program in place, and so do all freight companies.....you don't want to make wonderful food, only to put it on a filthy truck where it becomes adulterated prior to arrival.

Pest Control and Sanitation need to be maintained across the supply chain, this is where using approved suppliers only is important.

By supply chain management, what do you mean? From end to end of supply chain or after manufacturing tk distribution only?

In agricultural raw material, care must be taken for pesticide application to avoid pest resistance. Also immediate cleaning of harvest needs to be in place to prevent further attraction.

For transport of goods (including woods and some agricultural products) especially on overseas, freight need to secure for phytosanitary certificate to prevent pest migration from one region to another. Correct freight must also be chosen to ensure prevention of condensation during sea transport.

In storage, good warehousing must be in place.. e.g. sound structure, proper ventillation, correct storage requirement, FIFO/FEFO, pallet rotation for slow moving materials to avoif/minimize pest attraction.

Correct palletization scheme must also be followed to ensure that packaging is able to withstand transpotation stress...

In manufacturing, exclusion and cleaning must be prioritized over chemical application.

Hope this help you on your query

Hi Mr.Tahir  - did you eventually get your answer?  Below is what I'm assuming  you are looking for (evaluation of supplier/service?) and would hope the experts add on.

For Pest Control Supply Chain Management -  at your location you would need a contract in place with the service requirements included, your policy, the annual assessment, historical data, trending & tracking of findings/corrective actions, certifications of the service provider etc.

From your suppliers you would seek their GFSI cert and full report, if they are certified to one of the GFSI standards they should have a pest management in place.

For Sanitation Supply Chain Management-  at your location, a contract with your chemical supplier or policy on how you select this service provider, sanitation policy, SDS on file, procedures for using the chemicals correctly at right temp and conc., training, SOP's, historical data for allergen testing, environmental and pathogen monitoring, clean equipment swabs/ATP data, pre-op inspections etc...

Was your question in prep for an audit (which standard?) or was it a follow up to respond to an audit finding? Most standards provide guidance on both of the above pest control and sanitation.
