A site I do some occasional consultancy for received a grade C in their recent BRC audit. I was astonished to see that they were given 12 months certification

Has anyone else had experience of this? I was under the impression that a grade C was 6 months certification

Thanks in advance

Andy

You are correct. Grade C is a 6 month certification, regardless of how you get to the grade C.

I am yet to come across a site with a C grade audit and be given a 12 months certificate. Something is a-miss.

Has the certificate been verified by the BRC?

Hi there afcbno1fan

This is my impression also - however not all certification bodies are equal!!

....have you challenged the certification body to determine why the reaudit frequency has been set at 12 mths?..

Hi Lesley,

I am prepared to leave it as it makes my life easier

The owner of the business has a good relationship with the auditor so I may ask him to approach him and ask why

Thanks for your reply

Andy

Yes, good plan as it will give you more time to complete corrective actions for the NCFs raised at the audit.

If the business owner knows the auditor, it would be wise to have an answer from him/her or from the certification body re: audit frequency in the event that you are questioned by a customer about BRC audit frequency

The auditing body contacted my client a couple of days ago to tell him there had been a mistake and they have 6 months certification

Thanks for all your reply's/ responses
