How to Select a GFSI Certification Scheme that is Best for my Company

Taking place:

Friday, December 21, 2018 - 03:00 PM - 04:00 PM UK Time

This is a 10.00 AM Eastern US Start

Presenter:
Alfonso Capuchino, General Manager Certification Services, AIB International

Webinar Overview:
Selecting a certification standard is an important step for any organization. You are choosing the rules the organization will need to maintain compliance to. In some ways, the selection of a standard will shape the food safety culture of your organization and will direct future investments. In many cases, companies end up changing standards after discovering that their initial choice was not a good fit for their company, that customer expectations have changed, or that there is a change in their food safety culture. A thorough decision results in better preparedness, clarity about what is required, and an indication of the steps to follow. It is important to understand the main components of a GFSI standard as each is different. Each may have more or less details in the requirements depending on the standard.

MUHAMMAD  AKHLAQ : hi.
MUHAMMAD HASSAN SHAHZAD TAJ : yeah Mr.yookkittichai but forMINOR its 90 days foR CAP and whole 12 months to@take actions as per FSSC SCHEME DOC. for critical and major u r right
walter saraniecki : Did I hear you correctly that sometimes a food facility will need to be certified to 2 Standards? What happened to the GFSI mantra of "Certified by One = Certified by All"?
Andrew Dalgleish : Many sites in the EU have both BRC & IFS certificates. Some also have FSSC as a third certificate. This is mostly due to retailer requirements as to what schemes they accept.
Narongchai Yookittichai : After BRexit, will BRC be less popular in EU than IFS&FSSC?
Andrew Dalgleish : In the BRC name the 'B' no longer stand for 'British', they have changed it.
Amit Kheradia : Walter, I agree with Andrew, GFSI certification selection will depend on retailer/customer. It will be upto you the site to convince the customer all GFSI based standards are equivalent based on their scope
Bruce Perkin : USA did their own Brexit hundred + years ago, and BRC is still heavily used there
walter saraniecki : thank you to those that have responded., Therefore one of the basic advantages of GFSI is based on a 'non-truth'.
Amit Kheradia : Is it important for a GFSI standard to be benchmarked to the most updated GFSI Guidance Document? I find some standards are still benchmarked under 7.1 rather than the latest 7.2 ...
Evelyn Beaudry : Some members of our team were unavailable for the webinar. Can we get a link for them to watch?
MUHAMMAD HASSAN SHAHZAD TAJ : yet certified on fssc pkg and brc packaging and stil asked for AIB GMP STD AUDIT🙂
Gerardo Rivera-González : Hi from Monterrey México! Which one choose if my company is an Industrial bakery (baked bread and fried donuts)?

hamid ziena : Very interesting and clear introduction
Gerardo Rivera-González : Hi from Monterrey México! Which one do you recommend me if my company is an Industrial bakery (baked bread and fried donuts)? SQF or FSSC?
Hanu Reddy : whats lacuna makes ISO out of GFSI?
GARY Pasko : Curious, did I hear you correctly that SQF does not offer food packaging certification?  We have an SQF food packaging cert.
Ada K. : how can i convince my customers that having one gfsi certification is enough and avoid multiple certs since i understand thats one of the goals of gfsi?
Hanu Reddy : thanks for the Good narrative and thanks for the good useful webinar
Hanu Reddy : whats lacuna makes ISO out of GFSI?
Juan José  Rodríguez marin : hi, mi company is from colombia, we produced organic panela (moscovado), we are certificadted whit EU organic standars,  any recomendation of certificaction ? IFS , FSSC, BRC?
Hanu Reddy : lacuna means lacking
Khandker Raqibul Islam : My company produce flour, noodles, Pasta, Crackers in Bangladesh local market. What should be better next certification fssc/Fsms
Narongchai Yookittichai : Hanu, according to my knowledge, ISO 22000 is generic standard and not detail the PRP so it is not accepted and recognized by GFSI, clause by clause.
Cathy  Carlson : Thank you for your wonderful presentation; very helpful.
Khandker Raqibul Islam : now we are haccp certified
Rodrigo León : I am currently in AIB std for packaging in contact food, right now we are involved in the GFSI programm in order to includes FSSC, my question is: With the FSSC std will be sufficient?
