hello everyone , 

happy new year !!

 

i was wondering if there is someone here who works in a refining oil industry ( palme physical refining or any other), in our process we have bleaching earth as a waste and for now we have no managing system  to evacuate the used earth how you proceed in such a situation ?

Happy new year to you.

There are number of ways to utilize the Spent Bleaching earth (Used bleaching earth) depending what other processes you have.

Refineries are part of extraction process and contains typically 18 to 25% oil in it, you can add this bleaching earth into the inlet system of solvent extraction process to extract out the oil - which will benefit the oil yield (provided that output oil is getting FFA in specifications; plus the meal of this oil will get the required silica (you do not need to add more silica) but please make sure the silica content is in range after addition. In this case make sure your local regulations guidelines plus the certification e.g. GMP plus B1 guidelines.

 

Second option: Oil after extraction from Spent bleaching; can be utilized in the cement manufacturing process as an ingredient.

Third Option: You can sell this to cement industry to use as fuel - it has good calorific value.

thanks for the reply , i once read that it can be used for livestock , i'm not sure if anyone here is familiar with that?

because after the extraction we always will have the problems of getting ride from the spent earth

With regards to inclusion in animal meal, I have referred in my answer this option too.

Read the lines ....."Refineries are part of extraction process........".

What I mean to say, adding directly to animal meal is not healthy choice, however after extraction the oil from solvent extraction process the oil containing high FFA will be out from the spent bleaching earth and the silica from the spent bleaching earth will transfer to the cake (meal), this meal can be used for animal feed.

But please note if you are GMP plus B1 certified you can not opt this option, since GMP plus B1 strictly mentioned about not to add spent bleaching earth into meal or extraction process.
