Hello Everyone,

I am researching equipment to extend the shelf life of dried flower. This is all very new to me. So far I have seen systems that drop liquid nitrogen into a bottle, bottle then gets capped and a gas flush in tandem with vacuum sealers.

The Vacuum seal systems are affordable but crush the flower and cannot be used with bottles (which we have to use). Does any one know of equipment to dispense small amounts of liquid nitrogen into bottle I can use for in house trials that are low cost?

My understanding is that nitrogen is typically added to containers as a gas. Handling liquid nitrogen is pretty involved, but a refill of a tank of N₂ gas is like $20.

Hank Major, yes that was my concern. So far that is the only system I have seen for jars. The use of gas directly is only for bags ? unless you know of any other options?

The dried flowers are used as a food ingredient ?

 Yes, for food and extraction, but in our model is to provide dried flowers perfectly preserved. both visually and with the aroma intact.

I don't want to say I know, but I'm pretty sure I've seen machines that pack products in bags in an enclosure filled with nitrogen. And ones that blow the nitrogen in the bags just before sealing. It's been a while since I went to the Packaging Expo...
