Can the plant manager be the staff member who conducts the internal audit. We're a small company 10 employees including management.

If not does anyone know of any good on-line internal audit courses - for SQF Code 2.5.5.2. Specifically for staff that aren't used to reading/interpreting policies.

Thanks in advance,

The plant manager can be an internal auditor, even though small however why not rotate 2 or three other people as wel

You are not required to specifically have an "SQF" internal auditor training program, a generic IA program is fine.

As to online IA programs I don't know of any, we a program but I imagine there are others as well.

You can do an in-house internal audit training to train your plant manager, he/she can also shadow you while you do the internal audit as part of the training. You can get some good resources on line for this e.g how to conduct audit, how to get evidences etc.

What is the format of your internal audit? Is it in a check list format? IMO This is the easiest format to follow for those non-QA personnel where It shows the requirement and then check yes or no based on the evidence presented during the audit.
