Can someone please help with the below analogy;

In a case where you are considering a process step on a flow diagram (e.g. Receipt of raw materials) and you have identified that there are possibilities of Physical, Chemical and Biological hazards contamination which would require controls (OPRP's). What is the best way of numbering these OPRP's. Do you number them as OPRP 1P, 1B, 1C or as OPRP 1P, 2B, 3C.

In addition kindly state the basis for the numbering pattern if any.

Thanks

Hi vicovisi,

It's up to you. One criterion is that it should be readily understandable to an auditor.

Another option is to number all the points in the Flow Diagram which facilitates the hazard analysis.

The various CCPs and OPRPs are then derivable via the hazard analysis and obvious as to their nature/location. Can also be marked on the Flow diagram if desired.

For example, the excel here -
