Simon Timperley : Use google chrome or firefox browser Rokshanara.
Lowell Bumatay : hello everyone..
Hagar  Fathy : is palm oil good forhuman health?
Brooke Rehberg : What does everyone do to convey to their customer that they source responsibly and are working towards greater sustainability? Anyone can say it, but my concern is customer communication without having a multitude of extra third-party certs for your products.
Brandon Holder : Brooke: this is a concern of mine as well.
Rickie Conn : I was thinking the same thing.... I maintain our vendor files and I'm wondering where to start with Sustainability certifications...
Rossana Bruzzone : Hello from Uruguay
Kizzy Rennie : Same challenge @Brooke
Barbara Hickam : I think it's easier to focus on what your customer is requesting first.  There is a lot of overlap so once you get one certification, it is much easier to get another.  In other words, start with "low hanging fruit!"
Vianey Carreon : hola desde mexico
Zachary Skinner : As Barbara says, "low hanging fruit".  If your customer asks, you ask.  Then expand accordingly.
Zachary Skinner : Our company has set some sustainability targets as well, which encourage the research to understand some of the needed documentation.
Brooke Rehberg : I think part of the issue is that we hadn't really known a lot about the issues surrounding the ingredients we use, but as we get educated, we can start looking to our suppliers to see if any certifications exist that maybe we're not aware of. Barbara Hickam, the largest purchasing demographic of packaged foods right now is millenials, and I recently attended a talk from a very large company, that detailed that sustainability in general is very important to that group.
Rickie Conn : ok... we already have detailed certification for what you call "low hanging fruit" and we are getting questions from customers about sustanability so again I ask... where do I start?
Zachary Skinner : With no guarantee for response, we will ask our vendors directly if they are familiar with sustainability practices in their field. They should be the expert afterall.
Barbara Hickam : "Sustainability" is a big catchall term.  Ask them what their primary concerns are: is it chemical pesticides? Seek organic certification.  Is it labor issues? Join the 1cent movement.  Is it localvore oriented? Source from local farmers.  Ask for the specifics.  But, keep in mind some of these same "sustainability" areas are Oppose each other.  If the big concern is local, how are you going to supply in the winter, etc.
Colleen Hecker : It worked
Brandon Holder : Very cool! It worked.
Henry Sailo : network error
Steve Brown : worked for me!
Karen Hines : it worked
Brooke Rehberg : That is a great solution for information-hungry consumers and space-limited retailers!
Tina Baldwin : I have it
Allison Smith : It worked! Very cool and great solution to label overload.
Steve Brown : i-nigma app works with QR code
Zachary Skinner : Worked on my Galaxy S3
Hagar  Fathy : Thanks for your eforts
Rickie Conn : organic doesn't = sustainable... an organic production can still use slavery or have poor labor conditions.  We already have organic certifications.... We need sustanability certifications or evidence, totally different
Michael Adolph : QR code worked well for me - Great way for consumer to connect to their purchase
Noah Bogosia : Hi I'm watching from Papua New Guinea, just wondering if oil palm from my country can traced back to my country and not Indonesia or Malaysia?I've tried the QR code and it works for my phone.
Brooke Rehberg : Me too Rickie Conn!
Brandon Holder : Are there any efforts to harmonize sustainability standards or better define "sustainability"?
natalie Bonilla : it is required by FMSA or FDA to request sustainability certification?
Lesley Roberts : Tom - really excellent presentation, do you believe consumer behaviour is sufficient to drive the change with everybody so concerned about price?...
Bhawani Gorti : standards & formay for sources for spices industry
Steve Brown : Is DNA technology advanced enough to indicate geographical sources?
Bhawani Gorti : sourcing standards for sourcing of spices and herbs
Brandon Holder : Wonderful presentation, and I greatly appreciate your effort to condense so there was lots of time for Q&A. :)
Amy Bredehoft : @Steve Brown - I think not so much DNA but stable isotope testing can be used as an indicator of origin
LUIS Bravo : bastante complicada la coneccion de internet
Brandon Holder : You bring up blockchain; there's a lot of argument from IT people as to whether this technology makes good sense to use in our industry. Have you found others adopting this, other than just the wine industry?
Amy Bredehoft : question: what blockchain provider are you using? IBM? sorry if you covered this and I missed it.
Rokshanara Khatun : what are the certification agencies certify sustainability?
Henry Sailo : i lost my connection but thanks to simon and Tom
Steve Brown : Many thanks Amy
MARIA DE LAS NIEVES MEDINA : MANY THANKS
Bhawani Gorti : Excellent presentation from Bhawani Gorti Hyderabad India
Brandon Holder : Oh, very interesting.
Noah Bogosia : Thanks Tom for the feedback and the presentation.
Brooke Rehberg : I think we need a webinar on blockchain soon :)
Bhawani Gorti : wonderful presentation
Steve Brown : I support the call for a block chain webinar
Bhawani Gorti : standard for sourcing of spices and herbs from India
Elizabeth Musoke-Flores : In terms of sustainable soy, is the Round Table on Responsible Soy (RTRS) used by farmers in the United States? From my research, I have seen the use of the US Soybean Sustainability Assurance Protocol (SSAP) used rather than RTRS. Great presentation, thank you!
Patricia  Maldonado  : Thank you for an eyeopening presentation on sustainability!
Bhawani Gorti : wonderful presentation thank you
Brooke Rehberg : Thank you for bringing your expertise to us!
Amy Bredehoft : yes!
Amy Bredehoft : blockchain webinar
Brandon Holder : Are you seeing most of the innovation in sustainability being driven by customers or by industry? or both?
Bhawani Gorti : Thanks simon
Steve Brown : Thanks Tom. A great presentation.
Rokshanara Khatun : Thank you everyone!
Barbara Hickam : Thanks for such a pertinent subject...would love a blockchain assurance followup webinar!
Brandon Holder : Thank you!
