Congratulations to a super new(ish) member Zanorias on being selected for the IFSQN April 2019 Member of the Month award.  Zanorias joined IFSQN 52 days ago and in this short time is proving to be a very helpful and knowledgeable member.  We hope this award encourages you to stick around and maybe one day become a Fellow Member (1,000 posts).

For now thank you for your contributions.

An IFSQN mug is on its way to you.

Regards,

Simon

:happydance:  Thank you Simon and all at IFSQN!

I'll definitely stick around, I'm relatively early in my food safety & quality career and keen to learn as much as possible. The experience and knowledge of the guys here is huge, plus it's nice to communicate with like-minded folk. I'd like to contribute and help others as much as possible, and hopefully the more I learn the better equipped I will be to do that.

Thanks again, looking forward to the mug :spoton:

Thanks again, looking forward to the mug :spoton:

Honestly the mug was an even bigger surprise than the already significant surprise of winning MotM.
I opened the parcel expecting to find a printed coffee mug, and it's actually some fancy brushed metal thing with a plastic* lid. I feel like I need to grow a fashionable beard to be eligible to drink from it.

Obviously it doesn't stand up to the haute couture trappings of the IFSQN polo shirt, but it's still an impressive item.

*The plastic lid didn't come with a food-contact cert. I think we can safely assume that Simon has done his due diligence but it still seemed like an omission, given the focus of the forum :ejut:

pHruit, my eyes will forever be set on that polo shirt! But for now I'm over the moon with MOTM and the mug!

@ pHruit - I once received a beautiful brushed metal mug in a Promotion. Unfortunately I forgot the metal aspect and used a microwave to warm up some coffee. Separated into 3 parts.  + Liquid.!

Kind Regards,

Was this a typo, Charles?

Surely you meant to say that as an knowledgeable fellow with regard to food and processing, you would never accidentally microwave a metal item. Perhaps you decided that you were so proud of the mug that you thought it insufficient to only use it for an occasional coffee, and instead decided to use a burst of EM radiation in the λ=1mm-1m range so as to intentionally deconstruct it into a sculpture that represents the increasing levels of scrutiny to which the food industry is subjected? :ejut:

Hi pHruit,

You flatter me. IIRC, I was watching Miss Universe at the time.
