Hi All
Just a quick one on OPRPS and CCPS?
BRC issue 8 speaks about identifying CCPS under section 2.8. by use of a decission tree. Currently, Im using the HACCP CCP identification tree and 6 CCPS have been identified. This for an edible oil company however as I undergo a number of global customer audits it has been advised that there are two many CCPS and some of them should actually be an OPRPs e.g. strainer and filter bag units - preservative for yeast and mould etc (not pathogenic bacteria but rather spoilage bacteria). I recently underwent training on an introductory course on FSSC 22000:2018 and had a better understanding of OPRPs and logically from looking at my hazard analysis and applying the OPRP/CCP decision tree kind of put everything in persepective.
However this is the confusion that I am at in the moment - Would having OPRPs identified and referencing the OPRP decision tree will it be an issue during BRC audit - ?
Would a validation study be required for a OPRP?
Kind Regards
