Hello !

We are a pretty small company so when I looked into Datahex and bigger softwares, it wasn't really in our budget. However, for environmental and economic reasons we are trying to move away from paper forms and go paperless.

I found a few softwares that did what I was looking for and was wondering if I could have your input !

I found GoCanvas, which seems nice, does what I need it to, bit higher on the pricing per user.

I also found Goformz which seems to do the same thing than GoCanvas, for a bit cheaper.

Does anyone use them ? And had them for an audit ? What do you like about them ?

We are with SQF, and I want to make sure that it will be fine. Both have signatures, both can't be modified after submitted, both can be timestamped, so no fraud can happen.

Thank you so much and have a great day ! :)

SQF certified here and use GoCanvas. I love it and their customer service is top notch. They help me build forms for whatever I need without issue. Highly recommend them even though it may be higher. To add, I also integrate it with Zapier to help push important information from the forms to Google Sheets (cleaning logs, CIP, etc) so i can see it on a spreadsheet quickly. the forms from GoCanvas are the original copies.

i dont have any experience with the other platform, but like the additional features of GoCanvas.

Hello,

We are also investigating different electronic documentation formats.  We have investigated GoCanvas and liked them however, we contined to search because we were looking for something with stronger calendar integration (perhaps they are now, this project started months ago but had to be put on the back burner for a little while).  When also have on our list to evaluate; FastField, Form.com, Protoform - Mobile, Device Magic - Mobile, and Fulcrum.  When we were ready to begin our eval again, we found SafetyChain.  Were were very excited with this option because it is built around the SQF code.  While we are still evaluating, we found it to be very expensive (upper management feels it is too high for our current operations).  This lead me to "Forms on Fire."  Currently evaluating them and so far, they appear to be a stronger option than GoCanvas.  Very similar but currently is running as our first option.  I would encourage you to look at them and SafetyChain to compare.

I would like to see additional feedback on this thread since we also are still in the search and evaluation stage of choosing a solution for ourselves.

Thanks,

Stuart

Thanks for the answers !

I did look into Safety Chains, but they were way too expensive for us. Any full software was unfortunately too big for the size of our company and we couldn't justify the price tag.

As for Forms on fire, they look pretty good. I just have to evaluate what exactly can be done with the form afterwards (no modification, date / time can't be changed, etc.) and that I can keep a form open to continue filling it out (We have a form we have to fill every hour or so, I wouldn't want a different form for every hour, that would be way too intense haha).

I booked with Forms on fire to see their plans and how it works. I can let you know afterwards :)

Thanks,

Julie

Julie - Thanks for starting the thread.  Common issue for most smaller companies, I think.

Stuart - Thanks for the information on your research.  We're just starting in this area, have found our first choice to be overly limited, and so we are back looking for something (better).  I've booked an appointment with Forms on Fire as well.  Their site is a little short on details, so we'll see.  Looks promising.  (Now if you could only get a commission from them?).

I had started to integrate gocanvas at PP.  Agree about customer service................they will schedule all the calls you want/need to make sure you have what you need. HACCP mentor also has a page there so you can take her forms and not start from scratch

There is also a 100% canadian solution (that you can get grant money for) called Icicle...........its not cheap but its amazing

Please stop referring to me as Sir/sirs
