Hi!

Soooo, my company wants to become SQF certified. In my past a company I have worked for done BRC but I dont know SQF. With that being said, when going on the website I downloaded the SQF Food Safety Code for Manufacturing. However I did the "new to SQF checklist" and it took me to the SQF code for Quality. Which one would apply to me? My company roasts nuts to sell in bulk or to retail stores and we also do mixes. I just want to start looking through the code and making notes before we go full swing into prepping for SQF but I dont want to use the wrong code.

Also for BRC they had the code book and also the explanation book. When I looked for something like that for SQF they mention modules and other things and now im a little confused.

Any help is appreciated and we dont plan on going full swing SQF until I have a full understanding and the SQF Practitioner training which wont be til later this year.

You would not go to the quality level from the get go. You want to go with the mid tier (what used to be level 2).

Everybody has module 2 - the second primary modules is based on what your food sector category is.

I believe for what you do it would be module 11.

But look up your FSC on the list in the code book and consider getting an experienced SQF Consultant to develop your program or assist in doing so.

Go for the mid level SQF certification first and then if there is a demand for it by your customers consider the Quality level.

They used to be SQF 1, 2 and 3 - 3 was for the quality level - but for now go with the mid-level one.

All must comply with module 2 - the second module is based on your FOOD SECTOR CATEGORY... look that up in the manual based on product, in all likelihood it will be module 11.
