SQF Level 2, 74 NCR's in 14 audits in a period of 2 yrs. All over 90 with a top of 99. A lot of preparation and "you learn from every single audit" believe me.

Third Party - Ours centered around light that could be seen around doors (door seals) and spills that might impact our allergen protocols and controls.

My very first audit was unannounced. I was even only 2 months in the position, alone with no guidance or help, got a C,  how about that?  :roflmao:

Yeah my 1st Audit I was in was a BRC Audit and we dropped from AA to a C! I had only been in the position for 4 weeks :/ We were able to get it back up though at the 6 month re certification Audit LOL

Just finished my 5th GFSI audit and got a 97%

SQF 8.1 with 3 NC's

NC #1:    2.5.4.2 On-site personnel that conduct environmental or product testing shall participate in an applicable proficiency testing program at least annually to ensure accuracy of results.

This caught me by surprise, I simply missed it but its an easy fix.

NC #2:    11.2.3.1 Walls, partitions, ceilings and doors shall be of durable construction. Internal surfaces shall be smooth and impervious with a light-colored finish, and shall be kept clean (refer to 11.2.13.1).

Our facility is over 100 years old so this is no surprise. A bit of flaking paint in the locker room and a damaged door frame.

NC #3:    11.2.10.8 Temporary repairs, where required shall not pose a food safety risk and shall be included in the cleaning program. There shall be a plan in place to address completion of temporary repairs to ensure they do not become permanent solutions.

Production personnel used tape to "repair/modify" equipment instead of alerting maintenance. This was a good catch and I'm glad the auditor called us out on this, I'm sick of identifying it on our GMP audits and maybe this will help drive a change in employee practices where all else has failed.

Nov 19th SQF Ed 8.1. Scored a 98%. A door popped open when the auditor jerked on the handle. Another door had twist button handles  which were unlocked. Those were replaced and door closers added. It was a compressor room that has an overhead door leading into the plant. The other was for lack of written procedure for 13.2.7.1 Equipment, Utensils and Protective clothing. Some of the duties were called out in JDs and other procedures but not everything and not all in one procedure. Better than a major like we received last year.

SQF Food Safety Code for Manufacturing and Quality Edition 8.1

Score: 98

Minor 1: Internal GMP audits are not included in the verification schedule. (New internal audits never made it onto the schedule before the audit)

Minor 2: Water (condensed?) was dripping from the ceiling at the south wall in the production room between rodent traps #2 and #3. (Do not know if this is condensation or a leaking roof. A little puddle appears randomly.)
