Hello. Please is it possible for a step in a process to be both an OPRP and a CCP. In our hazard assessment there is stage where a semi-finished product(without the vitamin) at our end can be sold out to another company as a finished product and at that stage it passes through a filter(control measure for impurities) which we have classified as a CCP.

However, the semi-finished product passes through the same filter for the product to move to the next stage for further addition of lets say a vitamin before selling of the end product at our company. So can we classify this control measure as both a CCP and OPRP and say make a decision box there to show that it product that passes through is either dispatched or continues through the process.

Hi Augustinesco,

I think this vaguely relates to -

When identifying hazards, the organization shall consider:
a)  the stages preceding and following in the food chain;

Assuming that appropriate (external) documentation exists, the justification for yr own CCP should IMO logically be equivalent to that where finalization is done elsewhere.>  two CCPs

In the absence of external documentation, IMO it's a different process.

Kind Regards,
