My facility is a frozen storage and we currently are installing newer and stronger evaporators inside our freezer cooler. So my boss currently has the new ones in the dock area. my question is can we have the evaporators inside the dock if the site audit was to be in three weeks. The thing is my company is from Chile and they send there own tech to install them from Chile. But if I'm not wrong I think they wont be here until Nov 4 . and our audit is set to Oct 28th. Would we be okay with the evaporators sitting in our dock area or should we locate them some where else?

2nd question : Do you know if the auditor will check our product that we store at our facility? Do auditors normally do that. Its just we have a client that we found some of his items are expiring soon. and I don't want to lose points if we have expired product in our freezer.

a. secure them, make sure they are protected. no worries.

b. Auditors don't normally check expiration dates on products - however, you should handle the product like you would non-conforming product and tape it off, put a big sheet of paper on it and note that it is expired - lock it out from available inventory, etc.

Auditor may check your inventory controls and that may cause a bump in the road.

SQFConsultant's audit experience most likely vastly exceeds mine, but it's been my experience that lots of auditors do love poking around warehouses looking for things with damaged labels, expired dates etc.

It shouldn't be a problem though. As noted above, make sure it's controlled in accordance with your procedures and put a big "On Hold" sign on it, quarantine it in your computer system, perhaps email the client to remind them about the stock (as again you can show you're doing something about it).

Well, if something caught my eye I might just start poking around - and the side benefit might be expires.
