We are currently an SQF certified manufacturing facility . Dry blending - small business.  We are looking at an outside warehouse facility that is climate controlled, ISO 9001:2015 certified.  It houses a variety of businesses. 

 

Do they need to be FDA/GFSI Certified if they are only storing the product? What if we employ them to pick, store & ship? 

 

I am not sure where to start. Can I add this onto our scope when we are re-certified next year? It will be our unannounced audit - does this matter?

Just to add - since they are storing  your product - conduct an inspection. They don't need to be GFSI scheme certified, but they do need to be inspected for food safety impact.
