Ahmed  Mahmoud said faramawy  : hi
Penny Vyskocil : I have a business where we get in small quantities from a Wholesaler.   Can we use the Wholesaler's Supplier Approval Plan, since we don't purchase directly from the many manufactuers?

Krishna Kumar : hi everyone
Nadia Risen : Greeting from California :D
Rebecca Kayombo  Mufuk  : Hello everyone, Rebecca from SA
yehia Farag Bian : مرحبا
Babatunde Agboola : Hi everyone .......from Nigeria
alyssa j : @Penny.  FSMA and the GFSI programs that I am familiar with require you to have your own supplier program.  Your auditor is going to ask you for documentation.
Iris Zhupa : Some problems with connection
Doreen Hough : Doreen Hough If a supplier uses ingriedent from foreign country who holds the documents. Do they certify to there products
Shiva Rao : Hi everyone.. Shiva here from Ireland
Cindy Guerrero : Regarding "criteria"...what about having an established long-term business relationship with a supplier with no food safety incidents?  Is that a valid criteria to consider in a risk assessment?  If a supplier has provided safe food, but doesn't have a GFSI certification should not be penalized.
Doreen Hough : Doreen Hough to continue my ?  Do they certify to there products
Sheila Ware : don't we have access to slides after the presentation?  too much information to write each screen
Simon Timperley : we send an email afterwards with recording and slides.
MahmoudMohammed Kamel Ragab : welcome
tina block : @Cindy, good point, but we need to follow GFSI and FSMA standards..
Elyn Taningco : How should one deal with materials (chemical) bought right off the shelves from from a store. like Home Depot
Debbie  Johnston  : I audit my suppliers
Hamid Ziena : Hamid Ziena  Hello
Simon Timperley : Thanks for answering poll. 75% do audit suppliers, 25% do not.
BRIA BLACK : You mentioned that there were some standard practices of scorecarding, can you share these standard practices?
Cindy Guerrero : A one-time online purchase of an ingredient is really difficult to factor in as an "approved supplier".  They may not have any food safety docs because they sell on line and don't carry an inventory.  Maybe they dropship some of their ingredients.  So how does something like that get factored in the approved supplier program?
Shanna Angle : Do we need to have supplier approval for secondary materials (boxes, slip sheets)?
Lilly Laws : My understanding is that food contact packaging is to be basically be considered "food" in terms of supplier approval.  What's the best way to approve FCS packaging?
alyssa j : FSMA Supply Chain Program: https://www.ecfr.gov....117.g&rgn=div6
Sunday Funke : can you share GFSI requirement for supplier here or via mail
Heather Iffland : Supplier approval is a challange for a distributor where the customer (restaurant chain) has already selected and contracted with the manufacturer.
Anika Rahman : For an agents/broker is it recommended to trace back to the manufacturer or supplier
Benjamin Sandoval : How this approval of supplier apply to warehouse that handles food products (finish goods only) and these warehouses most of the time do not have a GFSI certificate?
Cher Yang : what types of documents should we gather for packaging materials or other raw materials that are not food but are food contact
Laura Surkan : Can you recommend the top 3 softwares designed for food safety professionals for Supplier Approval programs?
John Sabiti Hamadi : How can a distributor be aproved?
Anika Rahman : Do you recommend a Food Fraud/VACCP risk assessment for agents brokers of finished food products?
Babar Mehmood Tariq : For risk assessmentyou mentioned that it should be done without controlls, by control you mean controls at supplier plant or your own QA checks?
Dr. Ahmed El Mesallamy : Can we apply this "supplier approach" for food processing equipment ? and so on
alonso salinas : Can you recommend softwares for handling/ managing a quality management system; like internal audits, document control, training, etc.
Cher Yang : What types of documents do you see in industry for RTE foods versus NRTE foods
Ahmed Adel  Elabd : Hello evryone from Egypt
Celso Paguntalan : Is GFSI an absolute requirement for a high risk supplier, like ingredient supplier? What if the supplier has a Food Safety Management program, HACCP, Risk etc. all of these PRPs on food safety?
Hamid Ziena : What can we do toward the packaging material supplier who do not perform the migration test annually due to cost?
Cory Carter : Must a company physically visit and audit it's suppliers, or would requirement and review of GFSI audits suffice?
Debbie  Johnston  : Can you give us an example of a scorecard??
Emily Taberara : how do i find out what kind of food safety program my suppliers is using?
MUHAMMAD HASSAN SHAHZAD : there are so many situations where supplier management wants to shift improvement cost and also sometiems MNC Customers give so much expectations from suppliers but no buisness committnent sometimes make multiple suppliers on same commodity  and cost driven so that discourages the relationship and such efforts
robert brown : a best best practice we use is visitation and test thier recall program
Anika Rahman : For an agents/broker is it recommended to trace back to the manufacturer or supplier
Anika Rahman : Do you recommend a Food Fraud/VACCP risk assessment for agents brokers of finished food products?
alyssa j : @Cher.  I ask our pkg suppliers for statement of compliance w/ Food Contact 21 CFR 177.
BRIA BLACK : On the scorecarding slide you stated that there were standard practices of scorecarding your suppliers (this scorecard should then be provided to your supplier on how you scored them). Can you share with us a few of the standard practices you referenced? Always looking to improve how my company performs scorecarding!
robert brown : are not the importer responsible for the due diligence?
Leanne Arbuckle : if you get a raw material from an agent/distributer, is it necessary for them and the manufacturer of the product to have GFSI certification or just the agent/distributer you are buying from?
Benjamin Sandoval : Which kind of criteria should be take at the time to audit a logistic company (warehouse) that handles finish good product (low risk) that not have any type of certification?
Gary Gugger : When performing supplier audits, do most companies create their own audit format based on percieved risks with that particular supplier or a follow-up of a GFSI audit scheme?
Lilly Laws : I'd love a copy of that list
Cher Yang : Thank you. I look forward to the list
Anika Rahman : Cher-Statement of compliance, allergen statement-comes to mind
Yahia Abed : After the first audit when having a new suppliers, should we audit again after some time  or in certain intervals?
Cher Yang : Thanks alyssa J.
Margaret Halleron : Great presentation.  Will this be able to be downloaded next week?
Janhoi Kelly : Are there unique or special types of risk assessment considerations for food contact process chemicals/process aids (e.g. mineral salts and inorganic acids) that are used in food manufacturing? These process chemical suppliers typically do not have GFSI certifications.
Anika Rahman : I would say distributers can be approved, based on their quality system, temperature validation studies, temperaturing monitoring process, other quality safety audit certificates/scores
Kelly Zovak : Is a certificate in Good Distribution Practices required or a nice to have - in reference to the SQF standard.
Kevin Dantzler : We usually don't approve the distributer without approving the actual supplier. The details that are needed will come from the actual suppliers.
Dorothea Hescock : What if you are working with a broker and the broker is supplying the Letter of Guarantee?  The broker does not rehandle the finished product.
tina block : imy question woul be the same with Leanne Arbuckle, cuold you please comment on that?
Jessica Dorsey : Thank you
Heather Iffland : As a distributor, we are SQF certified. A risk factor can be added if they are conducting recoup or repacking on-site versus "box in box out".
MahmoudMohammed Kamel Ragab : do we need to have a supplier approval for ( HACCP) in your food Science and why?
Sunday Funke : If you subscribe to ISO 22000 will it pass for GFSI requirements.
Julie Ashmore : TraceGains, FoodLogicQ, SafetyChain
Maria Macias : thanks Julie
Lauri Glasgow : Sunday Funke:  No.  FSSC 22000 is the GFSI certification.  It contains ISO 22000 and other supplemental standards to make it GFSI compliant.  ISO 22000 alone is not.
Dennis  Grayson : GSFI most of the time is just a customer requirement.
Heather Iffland : We use TraceGains but I've also seen ReposiTrak and FoodLogiQ. I believe there is another one just for produce.
Kee Kee Goh : what if a small-medium company buys from a non-gfsi supplier overseas and this company is not able to conduct supplier audit?
Hamid Ziena : Thank you
Gary Gugger : Thank you!
Cher Yang : What do you see moving forward with validation and documenting. For example, if an ingredient is RTE and they have validated their process should we require one and what should we look for?
Leanne Arbuckle : if you get a raw material from an agent/distributer, is it necessary for them and the manufacturer of the product to have GFSI certification or just the agent/distributer you are buying from?
Snezhina Dimitrova : Please send the Best practice list for packaging suppliers to us too. many thanks
robert brown : you own what comes in the door.
Edward Gatta : Should we have documentation on Glyphosate possible found in food source
Julia Haas : Thank you!
Cindy Guerrero : Thank you!  Good info.  :-)
Simone Kummerlöwe : thank you
Kim Stevenson : Thank you kindly for this great presentation
Patricia Maldonado : Thank you!
Emily Taberara : Thank you
Cory Carter : Thank you SImon and Chris
