What are the GRAS levels for each of these gases:

O2

CO2

CO

N2

Is there a USDA or FDA guidance-regulatory document for this?

Please advise.

May I enquire the specific reason for yr request ?

I noticed this fascinating titbit on google -

The EU prohibits food companies from using carbon monoxide. Under current US regulation, processors do not have to indicate on the label that their meat products have been treated with carbon monoxide.Mar 14, 2017

Just wanted to understand the USDA FSIS regulation on these gases for MAP packaging

You omitted to state what kind of product to be used for.

Not my area but other than perhaps CO, GRAS-type gas regulations with respect to food/MAP appear limited. CO seems  problematic (see pdfs below)

Presumably the gases should be food grade for which specifications exist (previously attached on this forum).

The effectiveness of MAP/ROP systems has been previously discussed on this forum, also see links below..

Thanks, Charles

I couldn't remember but I think that the FDA sets the regulations for packaging in the US. I will check their website.
