Good day to you wonderful food safety people;

I'm shopping around for a CB for SQF "Food Safety" and have been focusing on AIB and Bureau Veritas as they have been both very responsive to inquiries. I have worked with NSF and Silliker, NSF being inconsistent with quality of professionalism in it's auditing cadre, and heavily bureaucratic in the audit closure. Silliker has been good, but required me chasing them for service.

I've been trying to dig up some dirt on AIB and Bureau Veritas. Aside from the PCA incident and some rumors of financial troubles I can't find much else on AIB. Bureau Veritas, nothing. I even combed through disgruntled employee posts on Indeed and GlassDoor.

So, if anyone has some +/-  input for either please share.

Thanks in advance

Never liked AIB ever since they had those certificates that would say stuff like "superior" and then we would come to do a 3rd party audit and almost every time the audit would be close to or at failure.

They sold people pumped up certificates.

I like BV, have heard good feedback on audits they have done.

Our company chose AIB prior to my hiring, and we still continue to use them. Not sure if they might've changed the embellished statements on their certificates as Glenn stated, just looked through our archive of certs and they don't have any "superior" wording of any sort asides from letter grade.

I can say that working with both, it really depends on the individual auditor you get, and AIB was a bit more standardized in terms of multiple auditors = same grade / vs BV multiple auditors = varied grade.

Our scope is confections if that helps.

Are you sure? I've always dealt with them for my SQF audits,

That's really bizarre. I go to SQFI and select my region for CBs and it doesn't show. Do a search and get the results.  Well I'll send an inquiry even though they have the most atrocious website.
