Hello everyone,

I'm preparing the risk analysis for my company where produce Aluminum can and Aluminum end.
I didn't clear about some hazards in the clause 2.2.6 as below

• potential for unintended migration of substances from the packaging material into food or other hygiene-sensitive products

• potential problems arising from the use of recycled materials

• foreseeable misuse by the consumer

• defects critical to consumer safety

• hazards that may have an impact on the functional integrity and performance of the final product in use

• potential for malicious intervention

• potential for raw material fraud.

Do someone help to explain and example of each hazards, please?

Thank you in advance for your kindly answers.

Hello NatchaW,

Here are some examples of each of your points:

• potential for unintended migration of substances from the packaging material into food or other hygiene-sensitive products - perhaps certain storage or food types (acidic/alkaline) causes chemicals to leach through the surface of the aluminum and come in contact with food.

• potential problems arising from the use of recycled materials - recycled materials containing some sort of chemicals causing issue with your product.

• foreseeable misuse by the consumer - customer using aluminum for unintended uses

• defects critical to consumer safety  - potential for food safety hazards in aluminum (think foreign material or aluminum sharps)

• hazards that may have an impact on the functional integrity and performance of the final product in use - potential for hazards like aluminum not being sealed or thickness of aluminum not robust enough for final use, etc.

• potential for malicious intervention - employees intentionally sabotaging product

• potential for raw material fraud. - suppliers using unapproved filler or alternate materials and stating product is 100% aluminum
