Morning All,

I've had a conversation with one of my European Customers today around E471 getting banned in France as its considered Carcinogenic, and can we look to take it out of our products. THis is the first I'd heard of this and wondered if anyone else had?

Thanks.

Was it definitely E471 they were asking about?
Not one I've seen anything on recently (last EFSA opinion was quite reasonable IMO), but I'm aware of a lot of discussion around E171 (titanium dioxide), particularly with regard to France where a ban is now in effect, IIRC.

Dear all,

I closely follow the discussion because from France several topics on national level  is influencing european business (TiO2, BPA, nano, palm, nutri-score).

The "target" is E171 (Titan Dioxide) as written before. I am not aware on discussions on/national regulation for the emusifier E471.

Regards

moskito
