Had a packaging company that is BRC and they incorporated checking all blades (automatic and singles) during their normal pre-operational inspection and they had a separate internal inspection once a week for the ink needles (that is what they called them.)

BRC Packaging 4.9.2.2 Production equipment that incorporates blades or sharps shall be monitored
Anyone have a suggestion as to how to monitor printing presses and rewinders in flexo printing?

I would be more concerned with the metering blades! On our flexo press they're 5 feet of lethal slashing potential. We also add it to our job OK, pre-press inspection.

For hand sharps, we have a return and supply system which is controlled and documented by the department manager
