According to SQF ed 8.1: 2.1.5.3 The crisis management plan shall be reviewed, tested and verified at least annually.

Would our response to COVID count towards the verification of the crisis management plan? Usually we call a crisis that would effect food safety (not a recall) and then we complete the steps until all trials have been followed up on. But since this is an ongoing crisis and our mitigation of risks would be verification in it's effectiveness, is this correct thinking?

Thanks,

Taylor Morgan

I would think that the test will only be accepted if you can show once it's all over your response was appropriate. The CoVid-19 pandemic is a marathon, not a race.
