Hello, Quality Colleagues.

I am looking for a list of Quality-centric claims/certifications/badges that food or supplement companies can obtain (want to call out on the label once certification is obtained).   Similar to Certified USDA Organic, Non-GMO Project Verified, NSF, Manufactured in the USA, Informed-Choice...

Can anyone either recommend a site that provides others available or list others that are available?

I’m also looking for costs associated with the certifications.

Thanks in advance for your reply.

Susan

Interesting question, I don't know of any one site that shows them all.

In a chat with a client we discovered over 70 certifications/programs that would allow a wording, logo or seal to go on a food/supplement product.

And then we broke it down to 5 for the client.

The only big issue is that if there is an infraction large enough, the certification/CB can pull the certification and then demand label changes.

I am not aware of a site listing them all, either, but can tell you the main programs in North America for gluten-free certification (in terms of certifications with logos/seals to display on packaging):

GFCO - Gluten Free Certification Organization, offered by the Gluten Intolerance Group (note they just rebranded their logo) - https://gfco.org/

GFMP - Gluten Free Manufacturing Program, offered in conjunction with the National Celiac Association - https://gf-finder.co...turing-program/

GFCP - Gluten Free Certification Protocol, offered by BRC - https://www.brcgs.co...cation-process/

NSF Gluten Free Certification - offered by NSF - https://www.nsf.org/...ms/gluten-free/

Pricing is going to vary from organization to organization and will depend in part on how many products you need to certify.

To the best of my knowledge there are no certification schemes for other allergens (eg peanut free or milk free) for packaged foods, only for food service / restaurants.

HI Emily, I see this is your first posting in IFSQN --- welcome!

Also,  your website link is not working - I get a warning page telling me not to proceed, etc.

Thanks Glen! I could have sworn I did one of those intro posts but I must have forgotten. Will get one out today! Will also check on that link, must be a formatting goof.

ETA: Totally forgot to adjust the link when I copied my signature over from my email address. Fixed now, thanks again for the heads-up.
