Hi everyone,

My company has a plan to registered to Unannounced program next year. However, being it's the first time, I have several unclear points, and I hope you guys can help me clarify it.

_ 1: My company has a 4.5 man day audit. We usually had announced audit started on Monday or Tuesday so the audit will happen in 1 week period. However, for Unannounced audit, does the auditor come to my factory on weekend (like Friday or Saturday). In that case, will we have to work on Sunday too for the audit to be continuous, or it will be Friday - Saturday - Monday - Tuesday - Wednesday kind of thing?

_ 2: The workers start to work at 6AM, however office workers like me start to work at 8AM. So will the auditor come to my factory during 6 - 8AM? Because I need at least 1 hour to get to my factory, so if the auditor come to my factory before 8AM, there will be no personel to accompany them during that time.

_ 3: In IFS standard, it states that we can only have 10 blackout days splitting into maxium 3 periods. However, what if we have more than 3 customer visits at that time? So there will be chances that we will have an IFS Unannounced audit and customer visit on the same day.

_ 4: What will happen if the day the auditor come to our factory also is the day we are not operating due to some unforeseen problem? Will we have some penalty because of this?

Thank you guys for reading :).

When we had unannounced audit last year, we informed our CB (SGS) of our schedule to avoid this kind of situations. Why should they penalize you if there's unforeseen problem or unavoidable situation? The purpose of audits to help discover gaps in FSM system in order to improve it, not just rip you off due to something not related to FSM. Try to discuss potential situations with your CB.

Hello, all those situations shall be given to your Certification Body, and THEY shall do the corresponding arrangements in order to adjust to your production schedules. Pls be aware that and audit team could also audit you, in order to reduce the audit days,

best regards,

Leila
