Hi, My name is Sheny. I am just starting out my career in Food industry.

 

 

For a competitive interview I am making a 10 min presentaion for an Interview and my topics are

 

What are  the challenges faced by Q&FS team in todays buisness ?

 

What personal skills would I use to overcome these challenges?

 

What workstreams would I intiate/priortise?

 

Would be very appreciable if someone can help with some pointers on this.

These will be your best bet for an answer. The problem with any of this - it depends on the type of business/what you make, who you sell to, what country your in and your previous personal history. For these type of interview questions - it becomes personal. Like you'll see below, the struggles/challenges we have faced or our passions/pet peeves are similar but our own. 

 

You have to decide if you are going to answer this internally (management buy-in, etc) or externally (regulations). I would read/subscribe to food safety magazines. They will tell you what the industry is talking about (minus COVID-19, a whole different challenge). Go through the past Friday webinar topics, on this site. They do an excellent job of presenting on topics that are of interest now.

Thank you for the response and sending the links. Yes you are right, I was confused if to take topics internal or with regards to regulation. And they have specified with regards to food safety team in todays buisness, I now think it would be better if I have both internal and external topics included.

What is challenging you right now that we might help you out on?

Its for a 10 min presentation for Interview.

Now I am confused what topics to choose with reagrds to challenges faced by Q& Food safey team in todays buisness?

Challenges would be dealing with COVID...

How do you maintain food safety in your facility?

What are you companies weak points?

 

You need to evaluate YOUR facility. what is a hazard for me, may not even be an issue for you.

Yes, I am into Manufacturing.

This is their Interview question, so I dont have much idea on their weaknesses. Few topics I have penned down for the ppt are

#Increasing Food regulation/Laws

#Employee engagement

#Inefficient Indepth root cause analysis

#Lack of visible leadership

#Training challenges

#Continous improvement

 

Whats your opinion on these?

You may need to clarify what exactly you are wanting to do in order to get further responses. Personally I'm unsure whether you're saying you have a 10 minutes presentation and must cover the topics you listed - or do you need do present on one of them and you want help choosing? The poll would indicate the latter to me though the options still don't match?

Hi Sheny,

 

I recommend reviewing the most active, recent forums here and draw your own conclusions.

 

Although new in your career, you've been consuming food your whole life and I'm sure COVID has changed your perspective. A new perspective might be exactly what the company is looking for.
