Continuous improvement is the essence of adopting and implementing a management system. In regards to this, how can one ensure they conduct a cost effective mock recall? Such that mock recalls are conducted in a way that reduces cost at all levels possible without compromising the integrity of the recall

What is costing you on the mock recall?

In my experience, the only cost would be the labor of the people conducting the exercise, but isn't that apart of the job anyway?

Setting a time frame to complete the mock recall would be a way to be more cost effective. Another way would be assigning roles and tasks to the individuals involved to compile the information together faster.

The purpose of the exercise is to test your traceability of the product/raw material forwards or backwards. While you want to be able to complete the task as fast as possible, it is important to make sure that the mock recall is being conducted to the fullest extent and no step is skipped.

The above may be regarded as a "partial" mock recall,, eg see -

Regardless, perhaps the OP could clarify what they mean by "cost-effective" ?

Kind Regards,
