I am looking for some opinions based on supplier allergen questionnaires. Our facility is maintained to be peanut free. Testing is completed on lots of tree nuts to confirm no detection of peanuts we do not receive products that contain or may contain peanuts into the facility. We have a potential new supplier and our team is at a crossroads - they do not process peanuts in the product or on the same line BUT do have them in their facility. Allergen Program was received and reviewed and seems very sound in eliminating potential cross-contamination. My question is, is peanut-free facility for us still maintained a supplier has peanuts in their facility?  Thank you in advance for any opinions provided!!

Would you be able in incorporate random ingredient testing to ensure your suppliers are conforming to what they said they would do?

I think random equipment swabbing in your facility as well as random ingredient testing (maybe quarterly) would put your mind at ease and shouldn't be very expensive. I've only ever used Neogen testing kits but they are simple and easy to use-just need a fridge for storage of them
