Hi everyone! I am new to the IFSQN! I am not sure this is the best forum for the question I want to ask, but it was the closest I found so here it goes...Any of you have an example of a Food industry work wear/uniform (including maintenance/laundry) specification? I know the basics in terms of GMP, looking for a more comprehensive example. I would appreciate if anyone could share. Thank you in advance!

Hi! Thanks for your answer.

I am thinking of having a service, I need an example of specification for work wear (food industry/food manufacturing).

Thanks again!

The uniform service provider should have specifications ready for review including (if applicable) a validated process study conducted as a kill step.  Other factors include color coding for different zones, and types of garments (lab coats, aprons, smock, etc.)

You should provide more info regarding your specific operation

Uniforms should not have buttons---snaps/zippers or velcro are acceptable

A reputable company will have a validations study regarding the actual cleanliness of uniforms post wash, but depending on what you're making, you may only need a letter of guarantee that your uniforms are not washed with others from non compatible operations (think car garage, dirty factory etc)

Thank you all for your answers so far! I was wondering whether anyone has an example of a full specification they could share?

Hi Charles,

There is no external standard involved. Just looking to create a work wear spec in order to contract a service - work wear and laundry. The potential providers won't give us an example, so I was wondering whether anyone has an example that I could have a look at to help me build my specification. I have the basic GMP elements already - no buttons above waist, while work wear to assess cleanliness...but the spec needs to be more comprehensive than this. If anyone has an example to share, I would really appreciate it.

Thanks again everyone!
