What areas did you not meet the requirements?

How many years of food processing experience do you have?

I hope you are aware that it is not a pre-req the you take the course andpass the test for the SQFP training in order for the company to take the path towards SQF certification.

What is required is for the SQFP and SQFP backup to have a full understanding of the code as it apolies to your company/scope.

And taking a course and passing a test does not mean that you, yourself are certified.

Now, back in the day (oh, about 16-20 years ago when I became one of the first SQF Auditors you were required per code to take the course and have you training course completion certificate...

But the key thing for the audit was not the course nor the certification - it was and still is -- is the SQFP competent to be the SQFP, can the person execute the programs, do they have full understanding and comprehension of the code - in other words do you have what it takes to do everything involved with being an SQFP.

And to that extent that is really the "test" that you must pass as the Auditor is tasked with reporting your comprehension and ability to carry everything out.

These days (as an SQF Consultant) I assist companies in hiring for this position and I am much more interested in experience and the ability for comprehension and execution with or without a piece of paper that says you completed a course.

Many of those that I have seen and helped to become SQFP's never even took that course nor passed a test - in fact many did not even have college etc diplomas because school and a piece of paper does not matter.

As long as you are passionate about this undertaking you'll find that you'll do just fine.

Grab the code book that applies to your company and begin reading.

Begin to put your system into place or get a consultant that will guide you along the way or develope your doc system with or for you.

Once the build is done, your actual training is in execution, monitoring, validations, vertifications, log and your exam ( if you will) will be passing the audits and the certificate for you will be that beautiful framed certification.

Then you sit back and say - I did it, I passed a really tough course and passed the exam!

SQF Consultant does SQF not require that the Practitioner and alternate Practitioner complete and pass a HACCP Course. They are required to have a HACCP certificate are they not?

Yes. I was just addressing the course itself and exam.

Back in the day this was required, and then it was dropped.

Frankly I've seen way too many SQFP's that take the course and because they passed the exam that they have a full understanding.
