Hi,

The new requirement for label reconciliation in BRC ver. 9- what does it apply to?

Does it apply to pre-printed packaging, which we then date code?

Or does it only apply to labels printed in- house?

Thanks in advance

Reconciliation is to ensure that 1 - the packaging and/or labels are not used on the wrong product (ex: label without allergen declaration applied to a product with an allergen) because the line was not cleared and all unused labels were not reconciled and 2 - the labels/packaging is not used to produce unauthorized product (food fraud).

I would treat pre-printed packaging the same as labels printed in-house.
