Sorry to reveal my ignorance but do you mean you have a metric hour or something ????

Well we don´t use "A.M." or "P.M.". After twelve we just keep on counting till 24, which would be midnight. e.g. 3:00 PM would be 15:00 Uhr.
In the eastern part of Germany we don´t say " quarter to..." or "quarter past..." (but we understand what is meant whith it) We used to say " quarter ten " which means quarter past nine or " three quarters ten" that means quarter to ten. The people from Westgermany don´t understand this. They believe quarter ten means quarter past ten so they will be one hour to late

OK, this one's clear, usually called the 24hr clock, or airport time, ( although I looked up "Uhr" in google which gave it = to "o'clock" in English just to help confuse things, perhaps even google is not perfect  )

That is some kind of a system  ! There is a nice English saying, "Better Late than Never" although I guess you maybe reverse it (although the famed German work ethic is looking a bit shaky these days).

Good morning to all
Or of course afternoon, evening, night etc
I am joining the Forums so I can find out more opinions about my favourite subject... (yes, I know its quite sad) Private Standards!
I spent quite a few years at a retailer and sat on a lot of committees
Now I'm an independent consultant and part of what I do is write about Private Standards

I always like the quote from US writer, Max Beerbaum

Dear Simon,

When I lookin' for some 'off-topic' materials at the forum, I found this topic. And I realize that how rude I am, coz not involved on the vote and say hello on this thread.

Well, as someone always said, better too late than nothing. Then: I am from Indonesia, too bad not listed on the vote:( , I born, lived, work, eat, sleep on Java Island, please come visit us. We will be pleased to welcome all of you:)

BTW Simon, are you still wondering about NKOTB? It was New Kids On The Block. A boys band at 90's era (ah.. that time...). But ocassionally it used to call a newbie (of course, literally)... As for the band, well I admit I am a great fan of them at that time:) What I like the most is: Tonight and She is My Cover Girl. (Oh.. how embarrasing, I cant believe sayin that on this respectful forum...:P)
