Uhhhhhhh, I just do mine in July...lol.   Never thought more about it than that, but I'm not SQF, not sure how different it is.   I would never split it up, that would drive me nuts.   I'm an open it close it kind of person, I have enough chainsaws I'm juggling throughout the year, no way I want to add another.

This one you have to go code by code and find objective evidence for each section of code to show it's following SQF. I would rip my eyes out if I had to do that all at once.

Ours is basically the same, but we bring in an auditor for our internal since we're a small place and I can't audit myself, so no choice but to do it all at once.   Just like bonging beers in high school......lots at once, lol.

Hey GMO, I think Scampi is talking about a calendar year, not a rolling year

That's what I figured but that's why the semantics aren't clear.

I personally have no problem with being asked to do something at least once every 12 months and that's completely different from once per calendar year which could be nearly 2 years apart depending on how you schedule.

Funny enough, I just had this whole "it's ridiculous for it to be required to audit everything every year, it's too much work" discussion with one of our QA Managers who happens to be our chronic procrastinator.

Obviously our jobs are more vast than just auditing things daily, especially in a manufacturing setting, but having done the math before, you can audit just 3 clauses a day and still have time to audit every single clause twice a year with quite a bit of room to spare. There are a good number of times 3 clauses takes about 10 minutes. Obviously, there are some more extensive ones, but you get the idea. I think we all have time if allocated appropriately throughout the year.
