Hello IFSQN folks,

Looking for some help in finding out if there are any labs out there in USA or Canada that help with assessing potential adverse reactivities for dogs to certain treats?

We are trying to come up with new formulations for some of our treats and have some potential ingredients that we are doubtful about, so wanted to ensure we do some Palatability and some reactivity tests across different breeds and age groups to be sure.

Please advise.

Thanks in advance,

Apara

Is that pun on purpose?   Lol, looking for LABS to test dog treats?

I don't know of any such lab, but can't you just get a bunch of coworker dogs of friend's dogs together and do some testing?    If my dog were close he'd be happy to help, but he would eat a bowl of nails if you set it in front of him, so I don't know how much help he'd be.

Thanks for the comment @MDaleDDF. I wish it was pun intended. We have tried testing out with our dogs as well, but this isn't showing much in terms of reactivities. I wanted a more formal approach that I could document with a bigger dataset. Anyway, thanks, I'll wait to see if other members have some useful suggestions to add.

Is it R&D type of topic? Have you tried local vet hospitals or rescue facilities?
