Hey people

Need some help - We are putting in dip wheels for antioxidant chemicals for our cut fruit. I am used to doing this manually and doing hourly checks to ensure chemical strength is good.

My help needed is if the machine is auto dosing I believe I need to carry out spot checks with a calibrated measurement tool to ensure what is being dosed is correct - This is all new to me so as much help and support is welcomed.

Cheers

What antioxidant(s) do you use?

If you are using only one, you may be able to do a titration to confirm the machine readings or something if you have a lab on-site.

It's hard to give advice without the relevant details.

Hi

Antibrowning we are using for apples and we have know lab on site.

I was thinking along the lines or a calibrated solution and test the probe on the machine

Yes, you would still need to do routine checks to ensure the dosing is correct. Ours is hourly for antibrowning but it's based on volume moving through the line. Our volume is low so hourly has worked for us. We do titration confirmation and record them. It's not overly cumbersome and we've had no issues with this method with product quality or audit questions.
